I associate capturing the moment in a photograph to writing a journal entry. You are forever securing what you saw and felt in that moment, that day, that year in your life.
Yes, food photography is included in that. Who would love staring at a sandwich piled high with delicious ingredients or that perfect steak that just came off the grill. :)
