5 Low Sugar Fruits

I get it.

You’re standing in line at the grocery store and those very tasty and oh so colorful candy wrappers are just CALLING your name. One tiny little candy bar isn’t going to hurt. Right?

While it most likely won’t cause instantaneous harm, we’re thinking long term here. Diabetes is ALL about the long term and knowing how that one candy bar will affect you down the road.

Now, truthfully you can have that candy bar and let’s face it, some days you just need it! On (and I recommend, only on) those rare occasions, I say, go for it. Just be sure to account for it.

For those days that you’re just craving something a little sweet or wanting a healthy snack before dinner. I recommend walking past those candy bars and head over to the produce isle because I have an idea that is going to make you BERRY BERRY happy!

I’ve compiled a list of 5 fruits that are not only delicious and low in sugar, but help curb that sweet tooth. Choosing a snack that contains natural sugar versus processed is always a great choice, but it’s still important to account for these fruits because they do contain sugar.

BONUS: During summertime these nutritious snacks are [almost] always on sale, so stock up!
